A unique formation of Chrysocolla with some Malachite inclusions visible. Our typical range of Chrysocolla is thin coatings or drusy coated, so this glossy, botryoidal (grape-like) specimen is quite atypical. Some of the cracked outer layer reveals a lustrous, translucent Chrysocolla formation hiding underneath. Mounted on a custom stand crafted from black walnut and steel with a patina applied.
Specimen measures 6.6" x 2" x 4.4". With the stand, the piece measures 10" x 4.2" x 3.6".
Species: Chrysocolla, Malachite
Locality: L'Etoile du Congo Mine (FKA Kalukaluku Mine), Lubumbashi, Huat-Katanga Pronvince, Democratic Republic of the Congo
