This fossil Woolly Mammoth molar displays a striking series of enamel plates, as seen through the washboard texture and appearance of the grinding plate on the top of the tooth. Rich medium-dark browns show the permineralization of the tooth, contrasting with the light blue/white enamel. The jagged bottom exemplifies some of the remaining root structure of a lower molar of a mammoth.

The tooth is stabilized, but does not have repair or restoration. A small hole has been drilled into the tooth for mounting on the stand that is included with the piece. The crown of the tooth measures 4.1" across. Tooth measures 4.1" x 4.4" x 3" (width x height x depth). Measures with display stand at 4.4" x 5.1" x 3.2".

An engaging natural history display, this specimen offers a close look at the remarkable dental structure of mammoths.
