An unusual habit to see with a vug within the basalt is housing a fantastic splay of Pentagonite, with one crystal bridging the gap between crystal formations. This piece demonstrates the distinct acicular (needle-like) crystals of radiant blue Pentagonite set on clear Stilbite with a Basalt matrix.
Known for its stunning blue color, Pentagonite is a very rare mineral. Chemically identical to Cavansite, this dimorph (meaning different crystal structure) was first documented in Oregon in 1973. Today, almost all Pentagonite comes from India.
